Google Public DNS Setting

Recently, Google issued a Public DNS to be used for general, this serves as a privacy and his speed in terms of browsing.

The average Internet user to search hundreds of everyday control, slowing down the browsing experience. As the web continues to grow, a greater burden placed on the existing DNS infrastructure.

Because the search engine Google has crawled the web every day and in the process of completing and cache control information, Google is using technology to experiment with new ways to handle several challenges control that exists around performance and security. Google offers a service to the public in the hope of achieving the following goals:
1. Provide Internet users with an alternative to their current control services. Google Public control requires some new approaches Google believed to offer more valid results, improved security, and, in many cases, better performance.

2. Help reduce the burden on the ISPs' DNS servers. By taking advantage of Google's global data center and caching infrastructure, Google can directly serve a large number of user requests without having to query other DNS resolvers.

3. Helping make the web run faster and more secure. We launched the service this experiment to test some new ways to approach the control-related challenges. We look forward to sharing what we learn with the developers of DNS resolvers and the wider web community and get their feedback.

Now how do you to use Google Public control?

If you are using Windows XP:

Google Public DNS

First you must go into control panel and select "network connections", select local area connection that you use, right click and choose properties.

After you go to properties, you select "Internet Protocl (TCP / IP) and click Properties.
you can change the DNS server: (remember if there is already setting in your DNS servers, copy and paste in notepad first so if an error occurs, you can reverse to control the original)
preferred DNS Server: 8.8.8.8
Alternate DNS Server: 8.8.4.4

After the change, click OK and OK again.

After the settings finished, you should go to a DOS command. Click the "Start" button on the lower left menu, "run" the contents with "cmd" and click ok. It will open a new windows which is a DOS program.

At the DOS program, you type: ipconfig / flushdns
then press Enter. * There is a space between ipconfig and italic sign *

If you write it correctly it will appear the words:
Windows IP Configuration
Successfully flushed the DNS resolver cache

After that, let us test whether your control has been turned into Google's DNS Server:

at the DOS program, you type it again: ns lookup www.microsoft.com
then press enter

If you see: Server: google-public-dns-a.google.com
then you've managed to use google public control
